Harold E. Hatch photographed life in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont in the early 1900’s. This gallery is a selection from the thousands of glass-plate negatives and ambrotypes located at the Danville Vermont Historic Society, a non-profit educational institution.

I was one of many volunteers helping preserve and archive these images so the surrounding towns and residents can maintain a record of their history. I photographed and prepared each image for the archive. Many show signs of deterioration, emphasizing the importance of preserving these documents now and not lose them to time.
